Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2005 Robie, this is great. The plane of focus is so perfect, it could be mistaken for large format work. I love the hair detail in the upper left. I've been meaning to ask you...are you using mirror lock-up with your 67II? I'd be interested to know your shutter speed and aperture for this shot. And this looks like natural light, too. How do you control mirror slap and shutter vibration with the 67II? Is that enough questions for now (smile)? Did I mention that I love this shot? Link to comment
robiek 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Yes Jim, I always (well except for those rare handheld shots) use mirror lock-up (MLU) on my Pentax 67II...In addition to using a tripod. My exposure times are very long due to natural/surrounding/ambient light sources...and I somehow find a bit more sharpness utilizing the MLU. Not that absolute sharpness is the thing I strive for in my nude photography...and this of course has been discussed before. I typically do not mark the exposure times...but guesstimate this shot at 1/60 and f4. (hard to keep the model not laughing for that long) Jim A. not only is your own photography class A work but you are top notch in giving kind, valuable and insightful comment on other photographers work.
