zlm 0 Posted April 30, 2005 Split Rock Lighthouse along the MN North Shore. A re-edit of a previous submission, as I looked at it again and thought that this conveyd the feelings associated with a lighthouse much better. Staring out over an open sea. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Link to comment
jckirk 0 Posted April 30, 2005 I like this very much. I am bothered by the horizon line looking tilted, but I can't decide if it really is or if it's an optical illusion. Link to comment
zlm 0 Posted April 30, 2005 Yeah, I tried about 4 different rotations from the original to finally get it to what I thought was straight, but maybe my eyes aren't quite right. You'd think it'd be easier to get a straight horizon :) Thanks for the comment! Link to comment
alaska wolf 0 Posted May 9, 2005 It is the shoreline, that is not horizontal, which makes the horizon look tilted. Nice pictures, both lighthouse shots. Have you tried a crop sort of half way between the two. To me both seem long on one axis. Regards, Wolf. Link to comment
zlm 0 Posted May 9, 2005 Thanks for the comment. I kinda like this one as is, I was going for the long view of the sea, to kind of personify the job of a lighthouse I guess. But I do see what you mean about the other shot, it could be shortened a bit from top to bottom. Thanks for the advice! Link to comment
