Nice colours and contrast. I like the natural look of the child! A little snotty and still adorable :)

Hmmm. I prefer this one to the black and white. However, that said, it would probably be brilliant in high-key. Great colour in the little guy's eyes.

I think you've spoiled us all with your high-key, Howard. I agree with Warren that this would be great that way. A lot of color competition right now, but still appealing.

What a face, I can understand stopping to photograph. I also like the composition and DOF a lot. But the hat pushes it over the top. Nice one!

Howard, this is beautifully done and funny. I think I prefer the colors because of those lips and eyes. The too big hat gives him a smart look. Well done!

I like the opposite patterns of the sweter and the background, they add to the picture. The face expression of the boy is captivating and the hat is great!

I love this one more than the B/W image, Howard.... the colors, composition, the cap, and his look.... everything fits together to make a great image of wonderful childhood. 7/7 from me!

He's fabulous! The hat is waaay too big for him! I love his blue eyes and the colorful stripes on his shirt ... yet everything looks a bit dusty.

Howard ... do you really just walk up to someone and say, "May I photograph your child?" ... I don't know that I could do that. I would feel like I need to explain that I'm an amateur photographer and that I'm just wanting to practice and that I won't do anything "bad" with the picture ... etc..... How do you do it?

Lou Ann, that is what I do.

In this case I said to the mom, you child is adorable with that hat may I take his picture. She said, "why yes!" She even helped pose the child so I could make the shot. No questions asked. It must be my charming personality.
