Guest Guest Posted April 25, 2005 Excellent ! I like a lot photos of flowers and I would like shoot one like this myself ! I prefer this colored version to the B&W one because of the great contrast in green-white-yellow. Congrats for the cropping, the better one! It's perfect. The texture of the flower is very fine and the drops on it makes it more attractive : it looks very natural. Link to comment
rob_egbert 0 Posted April 25, 2005 ...Perhaps if the green background was more saturated? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 25, 2005 Bob, I go back and forth between this one and the toned version. The composition and DOF make for a strong, clean image. I disagree with saturating the green. I'm thinking I might prefer the green less saturated. I like the simplicity and sophistication of the toned version but like the stamens separated from the petals through the difference in color. I wonder if a compromise between the two might work. Here's a very quick adjustment. What do you think? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 25, 2005 because it's a trillium and because it's you- I will make an exception and like a flower shot. from first thumbnail glance I am drawn to the toned version- yet I havent opened it yet so things may change. I also find the added version in the thread where the background is darker more appealing than the posted original. Knicki Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted May 6, 2005 Yann, Paula, Rob, Laurie, and Knicki--thanks for your comments. While this isn't a spectacular photo, I'm pleased with the final result and I may consider Laurie's suggestion if this ends up in a show. Knicki, thanks for condescending to comment on a flower photo. I have a particular fondness for trillium, though I'm not sure exactly why. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 6, 2005 perhaps the fondness if from where they are found or the fact you cant just grow them pick them, plant them, and grow them anywhere. Link to comment
