very simple shot of the strings of a fiddle, but one I really like

I like it to, but IMO it would look better with a bit of the brightness at the top cropped out. It overshadows a wonderful shot.

I like the photo because of the focus selection.

Having said that, I am a classical musician and violinmaker, I know how rewarding shots of instruments can be. I think you could have found a better instrument to photograph so carefully. The old fiddle look is wearing thin even in traditional Ireland I'm afraid.

thanks for the comment ben, but the photo was for the cd inlay artwork for a famous fiddle player so i couldn't really photograph a different instrument for her
