Washing it all Away The title should be more than enough to suggest what this image stands for, she is not supposed to have a smile on her face, this is not a happy image. The subject is washing away her frustrations and anger......

Last in this series - Thank you to those of you who actually rate and

critique images properly.

What exactly is properly? I didn't know that there was a right way... I think the lighting on the model here works well, and the expression is a nice effect. I think a slight improvement could be realized here with a slightly darker background. Overall a good protrait, though your model looks a little angry...

Properly to me, is if you feel in image deserves a 3/3 it you should stand behind your rating, give it a critique as to why you feel this way instead of just giving it a drive by rating.

 

Amber is supposed to be giving off something other than joy in this image :)

Ahh, yes, the drive-by rating... So many submisissions, nobody wants to take the time to comment on what they think stinks! Kinda defeats the purpose of the critique forum, doesn't it? I know all too well, I'm trying to improve my mediochre technique, but it's hard to get feedback unless everyone's leaving 7/7's for your stuff... then you just get 'Wow, nice!'... Hmmm... I haven't figured that out yet either.

If you know it is good, why post it for critique?

it does not mean I do not want to hear others opinions.

John, when I commented on your photo, I remarked that the model looked angry. In fact, I gathhered that it was not a happy theme, and yes, the title does express that.
