Ruffed Grouse

I got this bird in the wild by Clear Creek state park. I've been told

that grouse are very hard to photograph since they are very skittish,

so I was delighted to find one and have it pose so nicely for me. Any

comments appreciated.

Very nice Picture Steve. I have them here where I live and yes they can be hard to get but when they pose they pose good! Almost as if they are trying to camouflage into the background and are very still etc until they feel its not working and then take off. ;o)

Thanks for the comments. I did do a good bit of photoshop work on this. I cloned out many of the branches around the grouse's head and then added a little blur to smooth it out. Those were the actual colors in the background.
