minicucci 0 Posted April 23, 2005 Strong composition. Bold colors. What's not to like? Link to comment
apotheker 0 Posted April 23, 2005 Good comp. & powerful image. Effective placement of the 2 architectural elements, & how they contain the image. As per the shadows; the lower one is soft (which i like) & both grounds & brackets the image. I like the diagonal thrust of the center shadow which opposes the diagonal thrust of the wonderfully textured yellow wall. IMO the yellow, (especially in the upper left) feels blown out abit. There are 2 very pale diagonal shadows that might help to benefit the image if the brightness was brought down a touch. If you feel i have overstepped the line of comment/critique please let me know, i will not be offended. Link to comment
jeff_henderson 0 Posted April 24, 2005 I love abstract images such as these and this one is a good one. Yellow and blue are complimentary colors and look good together. Add diagonal shadows to create a sense of dynamic enegy make for an interesting photo such as this. I'm not sure what Gary was looking at as far as being blown out in the upper left: either you have resubmitted since he commented or maybe the brightness on his monitor has been turned up but it looks good on my screen and I'm calibrated. No offense intended towards you, Gary, I just don't see what you're talking about. Nice photo all the same. Jeff Link to comment

apotheker 0 Posted April 25, 2005 At the top of the image, above the right side of the door, the lighting appears a touch bright to me, & my eye gets pulled to it. I'm viewing on a La Cie LCD monitor which is calibrated, & the brightness is set at full. Will play with the brightness & check out some other images as well, & check the calibration. Your input is much appreciated. Link to comment
