Agree that the tighter crop & the sharpness enhance the petals details. But the original is still a beautiful rose in the softer version.

The original is nice with the soft background,in the croped one the rose is accentuated.good details. Pnina

Nice shot Pulok. Great colours. I have to agree that the cropped version is more striking but your version has a softness that I enjoy as well. Perhaps adding the black colour to the frame also helped accentuate it.

Hello Pulok.

A red rose - very appropriate for 23rd April, which is St George's day!

This is a well executed photograph! - the secondary area of red in the out of focus background, serves to stregthen the image. The focusing of the red rose is spot on, and the high contrast red/green composition is both striking, and powerful!

Regards, Nick.

for the nice criticism and rates.

Don Bailey; Thank you very much for the PS work on my photo.

I didn't want to crop out the beautiful green background. Now I feel, after getting the feedback, that I could try to increase the shrapness as Don did using USM. Actually while applying USM, I generally check the larger version (~3MP) image, then reduce to (~1MP) for uploading to PN. I don't try USM on the final image which is wrong as I came to know now.

Kindest regards....

I am of two minds about crop non-crop. While the cropping suggested does enhance the beauty of the rose in the foreground, I also liked the three buds peeking in the background. Anyway, whatever you decide, the macro is really good.

Althought he crop is pretty but I,too, like the background, nice colors.

Thank you for commenting on my "sun gazer" image. Howeer, I had to change the image in order to remove an imperfection in it. If you'd like, you rate and comment again.

kind regards.
