dougityb 0 Posted April 20, 2005 I've never seen this in black and white before today, at least not that I remember. I think I like it better than the color. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Maybe this black and white conversion is better than the color? I think it might be. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted April 20, 2005 and so do I. I don't want to be known as the 'great cropper' but I suspect that removing a little of the clutter from the bottom may strengthen it. Crop or not, it remains a beautiful, peaceful scene. Link to comment
root 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Jeff, you need the FG interest, and more importantly, the distance from the most important sheep to the side and bottom edges is the same. Try it. I like the muted color one. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Jeff, you may have to deal with me if you want to be the Great Cropper. Over half of my comments have to do with cropping. Even this shot is heavily cropped, which partly explains the foreground in that I didn't want to crop anymore, although I like the leading line of that fallen trunk, on the right. A compromise to your sense of the clutter, and Carl's sense of the environment, would be to darken the foreground a wee bit more, or maybe lighten the middleground a tad, I suppose. Thanks to both of you. Link to comment
