andrew_bridges 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Very interesting effect...almost looks like an oil painting done on marble. I think the layering works best here on the skin of the face; not so much on the beard, where it appears that the gentleman has gotten sloppy with his curry. Link to comment

andrew_bridges 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Sorry, I should have elaborated more. The "sloppy with his curry" remark wasn't referring to the geographical location of the photo, but rather the effect of layering an image the colour of a turmeric-heavy curry sauce over a gray beard. I mention this because, despite the artistic intentions of the photographer, the eye *first* interprets a photograph literally and attempts to make sense of objects in the frame as though they were being seen in real life. So I wanted to give you an honest example of how one discerning viewer reads the image out of context. Link to comment
traders 0 Posted May 16, 2005 Andrew ... thank you. Constuctive critisism is the most valued. How your ( another ) eye sees past what I see ... will invluence my next take. db Link to comment
