"Wizard's Work" A derivitave smoke photo

Something a little different. This smoke image has always made me

think of something that might have appeared in a wizard's or socerer's

workshop. Please let me know what you think of it.

 

Background added with WEB-3D. The smoke is from an original smoke

photo, lit from below with a strobe and colored gels.

Hey Dave, great job yet again. Im not sure about the background though, the left and right edges are confusing and i feel all the textures distract from the smoke which should be the focus. I much prefer the smoke on a white background, but its good to try something different. 5/5

Good innovative idea Dave. Lighting up the smoke with strobes is ingenuous. But yes, the background spoils the magic. i know you wanted a wizardry kinda feel but it looks more of a computer game stuff. IMO a rather plain black or white background would make it a remarkable photo. Regards

The original is in the folder with a black background. This was simply an idea that occured to me around midnight. I deceided to let it loose on photo.net in the "wee hours" and see what happened. Now I am finding out...

It's really interesting except the background looks really fake.
