Jedi Chess (Revisited)

I am revisiting a photo I had done about a year and a half ago, only now I am doing it with a new camera and what I hope are better lighting skills. I also tilted the pawn to make it a little more "dynamic". I think it turned out better than the first one, how about you?

Not having seen your first attempt, I can't comment on that one...but for some reason, I just love this one. Whether it's the fantasy element or the good Photoshop work...whatever.

I just like it.

This is great. I like to see something different on Photo.net. Seems like few people have a sense of humor anymore. This is imaginative and refreshing. Nice work. 7/7

Can i nit pick? you can ignore me if ya like since im no expert.. ill continue anyway :0P

The contrast is just tad too strong for my taste but better light then the 1st.
EDIT.. I think the strong contrast goes agenst the good nature of Yoda, thats what im feeling.

Some how I feel that the pawn should tilt towards Yoda and not away, if it was flung away at high speed(high tilt) it would show motion blur. so i would try towards and less tilt. Yoda is a good guy, he would not fling people away at speeds. :0)

I prefer Yodas head angle from your 1st shot, hes looking at the head of the pawn not at the feet in this one, therefore showing less intrest at what he is doing. I like the background on this one as it has less dof and darker bring more focus to the main subjets. um... thats it. have a good day.. oh! great idea, great pic. :0)

Could you explain how you got the pawn to float? Dropped it on the table and got the shutter to click at the right moment perhaps?

At first, I thought this was a computer rendering because chess boards are used so often for that sort of subject matter !

Just great work. I love the concept, the creativity and the humour in this photograph. However, I think that yoda looks like he has a little more light falling on him that does the chess piece, whereas the shadows suggest that the chess piece is closer to the source. Maybe photons are attracted by the force!

This is the first time I'm looking through your pictures, and I admire your work.
