David, I actually think the noise adds to this image. Seems appropriate for that time of night. Not quite sure how to describe this but I also like the newness look of the luminous markers versus the worn look of the numbers on the outer ring. One minor thing, for some reason my mind wants the right edge of the watch frame. Of course, I gave up trying to figure out my mind some time ago. Regards.

Thanks for your comment. We share something in common regarding our minds.

It is interesting to hear what you say about the edge of the watch. There is a reason that it is not in the frame. The fact that the exposure for this picture was the order of a few hours should give you a clue. If it doesn't AND you are remotely interested, I will tell you. However, I do not feel it is overly interesting myself.

Thanks a lot.

Well now I'm interested. You say the exposure was a few hours long but I see no motion in the watch hands. So maybe you needed to be able to remove the watch? Maybe you then used the face of the watch to light the jeans? You said the only light is the luminous face of the watch so somehow you lit the rest of the scene. I'm wondering if you used a mirror or something to help light the scene? There is a reflection of one of the luminous markers in the top right corner?

Looking at this again, David, you put some serious thought/effort into this. Regards.

Jamie, there was a lot of effort put into this but I have to say that I had an awful lot of help. If you click on this link you will see that I had a lot of help from the P.N community. This is the result a super long exposure with the noise subtracted from it. I have yet to try stacking.

As for the watch being stopped. This bit is simple. The winder has been pulled out. When you do this with this watch, it stops. This is why the composition is the way it is. The winder is hidden from view.

Thanks again for looking.

Okay, looks like I over thought it a bit. Man, I gotta say, after going to that thread, I am seriously impressed that you got from your first efforts to this. Congrats!
