cappoldt 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Ooooo. Love this! Fantastic tonal range and great comp, Kim! Wow! Very different for you in regards to b&w, and I love it. Looking for nits, I'd clone out the tip of the branch at top so that there's just a smidge of empty space before the frame. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Probably a good idea, Christopher - I'll do it before I print it. These Canada Geese pictures came out kind of high-key with little manipulation and I thought they looked kind of cool. Link to comment
marc21664877899 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Very nice and very creatively composed. Congrats! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Thanks, Tamtam. I kind of like the starkness in these photos. Link to comment

markboyer 0 Posted April 15, 2005 This is absolutely wonderful, Kim. I'd love to have taken it. But I probably wouldn't have cropped it so severely . . . kidding! I do love the high-key tonality. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 16, 2005 Mark, you can see the uncropped (color) version in my New Work folder. :) Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Kim, welcome back! Great choice of black & white on this one. It really works. I'd agree with removing a few branches, especially those blocking Mr. Goose, but that's minor. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 20, 2005 I was toying with that, but Ed said he liked the branches left in front for depth, so I didn't do much with that at all. I still haven't gotten around to printing this yet, so we'll see how it looks printed out and I may clone out some branches. Link to comment
adolfovalente 0 Posted April 20, 2005 This is very beautiful. I like the contrast and the original composition (7/7) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Nothing done to this one in PS - it was a cold, dreary day. Link to comment
jeff_henderson 0 Posted April 24, 2005 very nice tones and contrast in this image. it's really clear and sharp as well. composition has the goose in just the right spot in the frame as well. nicely done all the way around is what I'm trying to say! Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Fantastic photo. Anyone that doesn't think wildlife should be photographed in black and white should take a look at this picture. This is a 7/7 if I ever saw one. Link to comment
robvine 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Excellent shot! Any comments I can make would just repeating what has been said above. 7/7 Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Thanks, guys - I think it looks pretty good in b&w. The scene itself was so neutral in colors that it didn't take much to desaturate it altogether and it isn't too different from the original. Link to comment
