Nice shot! Is this Jardin des Tuileries? I've just posted a photo taken there and the chairs were the same ..

I looked through all of you photographs and think this is by far your best photograph.

The randomness and repetition of the chairs is wonderful.

Plus the dark stage or whatever it is, pointing to the chairs adds emphasis and maybe a little tension too.

I would have to agree with the poster above-- this is my favorite of your photos. The chairs seem like people milling about aimlessly. Well-done!

Axel, for me, the best from your excellent portfolio so far. The random spread of chairs is very appealing as is your capture from a higher vantage point. The formal hedges in the background lends a good balance to the randomness of the chairs. Did you crop anything out? Might it have been better to include the chair at right of frame in it's entirety? Looks a little unbalanced to me.

The tonality is wonderful with deep, dark tones to the greenary and lovely light to the ground - makes the chairs stand out very well.

Would be interested to learn what sort of post processing you did on this to get this result. As you might remember from my comment on one of Kathy Wilson's images, I'm increasingly using monotone and duotone conversions in my work.

Very impressive. M

I love this axel,it realy works on your head. The chairs take on an almost human reality.7/7 I'm expecting them to start moving around in a little bit.

From the thumbnail, they appeared to be floating in fog. I think I agree about cropping out the dark above. That looks like some good material unto itself. Very nice work. :) Holly

I like this photo with or without the crop, but I think it is better with the crop because I think it expresses better what I see in this picture, and that is some chairs happy with in their solitude, maybe keeping company to each other from time to time. They don't seem to be willing to accept any human presence to interrupt they tacit harmony. Just fine as they are.

Very good capture.
