robertbrown 1 Posted April 8, 2005 Comments appreciated on this one--it was hard to compose anything without scaffolding getting into the photo. The whole Acropolis seemed to be under renovation! Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted April 8, 2005 I owned a flat that was built like that! Good composition and lighting. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 8, 2005 I think Robert you have done a very good job here to compose this one. Interesting perspective of shot. Kind regards. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted April 8, 2005 Peter, I was there this time last year and it was just the same! What with the scaffolding and tourist crowds it gets tricky. Nicely observed in this shot. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted April 8, 2005 Peter, Zafar, and Colin, thanks for your nice comments. Scaffolding was up on just about everything on the Acropolis. The tourists actually weren't too bad--only several hundred milling around in the late afternoon. Several years ago I was in Athens in the summer; not much scaffolding at the Acropolis, but 1000's of hot, sweaty tourists jockeying for position. If you're not going there to lay on the beach, I'd highly recommend visiting Greece in March. Link to comment
nick_g1 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Great picture, I think the scaffolding has done you a favour in forcing you to look for a different angle rather than the stock shot of the Parthenon. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted April 16, 2005 Thanks, Nick. I think you're right in your assessment. Link to comment
