Pool Tourney for Barroom Players

Illinois State 8-Ball tournament. Same size table as at the corner

tavern. Same characters too.

The spots in the center front to the back make a very good depth here ! Light on the man is nice but I think it would be better without the green spots on the left side. A black background as the right one would increase the effect of the light on the player.

Very nice mood here! I like the lighting and don't think I would crop anything. Your photo and this one, http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2729795 make me want to hang out in pool halls. Nice work!

I love the shot as it is also, the player and the stick really goes with the perspective, great atmosphere, great eye!

If you would switch to a Leica rangefinder, you would have been able to "bracket" your exposure by 1/3 stops, which would have made a slight but perhaps noticeable improvement in the face of the pool player. ;>)

 

If this were a 35mm slide, I would love to see it projected on a Leica projector.

 

Otherwise, your work is superb as usual!
