mcgarity 0 Posted April 6, 2005 I see the boo birds are out with the poor ratings already. You did a great job on this. Its sharp, well composed, got good tonality. Its top notch all the way in my book. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted April 11, 2005 the midtone values are terrific, but I see pure white (255) pixels across the entire region of sky. Except, in a couple small patches barely visible along the top. Photoshop tells me the difference between these two areas, the overall white and these small areas of darker sky, is less than 5 pixels. What does that teach us? Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted April 16, 2005 Larry, thanks for your nice comment. I like the image, but agree with Doug's comment below. The sky goes too white and I certainly could have done a better job of processing this in PS. In the darkroom, I would have probably flashed this before printing. Doug, I'm sorry for being so PS dense, but could you both explain and answer your question? Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted April 16, 2005 I was getting at this: You only need 5 pixels of difference to see gradation. That's not much, so just a little tweaking can go a long way. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted April 22, 2005 Doug, thanks for clarifying. Certain things in PS are a complete mystery to me. Link to comment
