fivetonsflax 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Hello Michael, There are things I like about this photograph, and things I don't like. First the good: it's very "tactile", well exposed, nice use of depth of field, and the composition is graphically strong and free of clutter. Now the bad: the image feels somewhat static or sterile to me. I think this could be remedied either by balancing that vertical line with some horizontal or diagonal aspect in the foreground, or by including a person, animal or object to serve as subject. Finally, I like the strong contrast between the black benches and the bright pavement, and the muted color throughout. Regards, Link to comment
peterbilitch 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Michael, This image certainly has some amount of character, as it expresses a blend of rough and ready immediacy which is offset by the smooth degrading of focus into the distance. That the first bench is out of line with all the others, provides the rough quality to this image. Depending on the disposition of the viewer, I imagine this could be seen as either poor composition or inspired vision. Peter Link to comment
f28 0 Posted May 3, 2006 I was expecting to see a lot of harsh shadows behind the benches but there are none. Nice job. Reminds me of Central Park on a rare (empty) day. Link to comment
