marina-cano 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Asturias... a beautiful place. Near from my home, Cantabria. Green, very green. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 5, 2005 Michael, An excellent composition, the natural vignette of the surrounding folliage keeping the eye on the highlighted subject. Your trademark use of 'portrait films' for landscapes results in a refreshing, more natural rendition than most of the high contrast, super saturated, (though often excellent) offerings on this site. Seems to me, that for your type of scene, a more subdued presentation fits better while, for a tropical scene like a beach in Hawaii, a Velvia approach is more appropriate. A sponsored shot? If so, I think they got their money's worth. Most appealing, especially to one in central Ontario still experiencing winter's hangover:) Best, LM. Link to comment
yosef_bar_on 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Discard the frame; it distracts from the photograph! Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted April 5, 2005 Len, it did get picked by one of my collectors, yes. Hope it warms up soon up there so you can defrost. Yosef, I think all 2-D art should have a border. To hang one without would be like a beautiful women without jewlery or make-up, not quite as beautiful without it. You may disagree with color choice and size, but to show them borderless, like I noticed you do with your own art, can make them look quite plain and more lifeless. Marina, the north of Spain, in Asturias and Galecia counties, are some of the prettiest places in the entire world. You are very blessed to be able to call it home. Thanks too all three of you for your time here. Many blessings, MS Link to comment
josebayon 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Beautiful place, Asturias, where I live. With this shot you show everybody the fantastic it is. Congratulations Link to comment
labuenaluz 0 Posted April 13, 2005 I love the composition too.. outside the photo I think the framing is not accord, just personal opinion, I think the light green stroke gets too much atention, without it, the folliage silouete would be enhanced, anyways fantastic shot. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted December 9, 2008 Len Marriott , April 05, 2005; 09:53 A.M. Natural Vignette ! "Michael, An excellent composition,... A sponsored shot? A Mr. Van Wart, multi-sponsor whom I've not heard from for years now. Last know address was Reno Nevada. Just re-read critiques of this section and noticed I had not answered this question. My bad. michaelseewald 237 Posted August 30, 2014 Thanks guys. On the framed, toned it down and re-submitted the image, thus some folks may wonder why it's being commented on, it was much larger and the inner mat a bit brighter than what's now shown. Link to comment
