amysn 0 Posted April 4, 2005 Oh-oh, I rated without commenting. So - I love the composition, the colors, the abstractness. Link to comment

ljk 0 Posted April 4, 2005 Tough decision. Don't know whether I enjoy your prose or your photos most....Hmmmm. Can I pick both? This is NOT just another brick in the wall..... Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Well seen and captured. Nice change to color. Interesting too, amazing what they throw into those ols stone walls! Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted April 5, 2005 I agree with Linda, not just another brick in the wall. Good observation, Howard. I'm sure you can tell a story or two about this restless, vertical brick. ^_^ Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted April 5, 2005 I am happy you guys like this brick cemented into a stone wall to fill a hole made by two drunken bulldozer operators who felt that stone, although beautiful, needed a splash of color from time to time. I heard this story from a rat that lives near the trash can not twenty feet from where I took this photograph. No kidding. Really!!! Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted April 5, 2005 good picture - good story, will you ever portrait the rat? Link to comment
r_e 0 Posted April 6, 2005 he could take a picture of any rat and we couldnt verify if it is really the speaking one ...RE Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Objects can tell stories, Howard. Position and colors can suggest a number here. I like this a lot. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 15, 2005 Here I go again ... catching up too late for my own good! Sorry I missed this one when you first posted it! I was JUST this week working with a group of 8th graders who have never used a camera. One of the things that I stressed with them is not to be afraid to get too close to your subject. (This coming from a photographer who loves nothing better than a good wide-angle shot of a gorgeous mountain!! LOL!!) Some of them took me so seriously that I had to remind them that the disposable cameras that we had given them were not designed to take very, very close pictures of flowers. :-) Anyway - I like this as an almost-abstract. The mortar and the bricks (stones?) in strange patterns/orders is interesting! Great eye!! Link to comment
