I like the way the overexposed bits of the shot just go to emphasise the eyes...

The light washes out what's irrelevant, to bring out this beautiful expression and make the eyes so piercing. I like this one the best of the three, very effective. Like the crop as well.

My first reaction was one of surprise that you've chosen to keep an (initially?) overexposed frame and work it to this level. The rendering places focus on her lovely eyes, lips and hair, which is a good thing, but the overall picture suggests a harsh flash and not the normally soft images one might expect from (slow) light painting.

 

I would probably prefer to start from an initially (light) balanced image (which this may have been), render it in traditional ways to achieve a 'normal' look, and only then, manipulate further to taste. Not much of a critique, Paula, just sharing my initial thoughts.

Michael, I'll try what you suggst. There are three or four versions of this photo and in the end decided on this one, but am never tired of experimenting. Thank you so much.
