Blending Into the Invironment

His jacket is spectacular for its interest-value! I like that it includes a hood ... so the focus of the picture, the jacket, is very much un-distracted-from. The background (upper left) is a bit too bright for me, but I'm not sure what you could do about that. Gotta love plaid!!

Take a look at his hands. Do they tell you anything about his mental state?

Howard, the hands caught my attention not for a specific mental state, but because I thought he was there and really didn't know what to do but stare and touch his fingers. Hopless is what I thought, maybe impression conveyed but the photo that doesn't show the face and the white background: void. The jacket seems th eonly thing alive in him. Very effective, Howard.

The highkey technique carries this a long way, Howard. Somehow I feel like I want to see his face. Great detail and tonality achieved with the white-out again.

Howard- you always keep us guessing! This makes me want to see his face, but I like that I can't! Strange way of putting it, but that's how it makes me feel! Nice detail!

Howard, the hands maketh the picture. They tell the story. But what is the story? Is he anxious or perhaps nervous. Is he tense from maybe watching a close sports contest? Hmm, interesting.
