Coastal Colors (Best viewed Large)

www.hawaiianphotos.net/kauaiphotos.htmMost seascapes that I am familiar with (including my own) are taken at either dusk or dawn. Seascapes taken during the daylight hours however can offer a nice opportunity to capture the tropical colors. I used a tripod and cable release to slow the action as much as I could. As always your opinions are appreciated. Aloha. www.hawaiianphotos.netwww.hawaiianphotos.net/Kauaitours.htm

One of these days, Vincent, I'm going to be FIRST to comment on/rate one of your gorgeous landscapes!! I LOVE this! The gorgeous blue sky, the fabulous clouds (you actually have clouds in Hawaii??) and the deep greens and browns in the rest of the shot. It's paradise!! :-)

I appreciate all of your thoughts on this. Paul, I would upload a larger version (which I've always done in the past) however after the new changes last year, when you now post up a larger version, the default medium view (seen by most) just loses too much quality in my opinion. If a larger view was posted, I wish Brian would make that larger view the default view rather than the lesser quality medium. At any rate, that's why I post the medium view only... the quality is definitely better, and that's what most will see. And Paul, I said the exact same thing about that rock in the lower left today when editing/cleaning up this. Too funny...or NOT too funny... or...

Stefano, this was taken on the eastside of Kauai just a few yards north of Kealia Beach. In fact here is one of the evening seascapes from practically the same location attached called Coastal Tranquility, which is one reason why this is called Coastal colors.. Sun set behind me and to the left. I was perhaps a few yards closer to the shoreline in the daytime version posted today. Plus it was low tide in the sunset version.

Thank you too Lou Anne for specifically pointing out what you like about this. Yes the colors caught my attention as well. I actually I was on a jog up on an old broken road that hugs the shoreline just a half hour or so earlier, when the exceptional conditions *forced* me to go directly home afterwards and get the gear. I can still appreciate the richness of colors on a sunny, non-windy day in Hawaii. I've been wanting to start a daytime seascape series for some time now and have a few images that might work.

Mahalos again for all of your opinions.

You capture a rather ordinary scene into a beautifully color and excellently composed piece of art. Very well done, as always. 7/6

fabulous colors and detail. My favorite spot is where the water spills over the rock and i like that there are two different kinds of clouds to appreciate.

I like the effect of depth in this photo and (the following can be applied to all of your photos) the colors are excellent.

Vincent- I like the contrast in blues and oranges, oposite colors, very complimentary. I definately prefer the daytime shot. Such stiking blue light. I got to agree with Paul, that rock looks like a skull!:) I rarely use my 16-35mm lens, I may have to start. Of course the only body of water near me is the good ole muddy Ohio River, or the bath tub! Nicely captured, no suggestions for change!:) Oh, maybe the frame.:)

WOnderful composition with the lines leading to one point. beautiful colors of the sea and sky, but I would like that the rocks in the foreground/first plan were slightly more darker!

Thank you,

B:)liana

Vincent, I really like the complexity and textures of this foreground. What is a problem for me is the sky. I have never seen a sky with this particular hue and luminosity, especially at midday.

Very very beautiful composition. Clouds, waves, colors are so great here. I have noticed somewhere else that you in case of being in absence you have an automatically answering machine (KW) so I won't ask how you get these amazing colors .. SOL
