Two towers of San Giminiano

Recently I have decided to turn some of my colour shots into black

and white. What do you think of this one ?

Impressive, though I would like to see more detail in the black area. It's too visually heavy if you want the viewer to focus on the towers.

I went looking for this after seeing your caption on the color version. The B&W is much more effective ... the sky is SO dramatic!!

Apart the fact that I have let the original sky on the new version (one can like or not), I think the black & white treatment is better, with more shades, more details in the blacks, and less destroyed by the jpg compression. See them larger. Isn't it your opinion ?

Sorry, Henri - the one on the right is the one you worked on? How about this as a consolation ... I think that the lighting/contrasts on the buildings in the one on the right are better ... but I really like the drama in the sky in the one on the left....
