Your focus and composition are spot on. It lends itself to the square framing. The only bad thing I can say is that the bench in the background is a little distracting, but that's minor.

Howard, aside from the perfect crop, gesture, and timing, I like the fact that there is a little motion blur on her right foot and the ball (around 1/60 sec.?) Why not with your tele-zoom to blur out the background? OTOH, this does have more of a candid, intimate look to it which probably more representative to your "Life in America" theme. ^_^
