Whats not to love? Thats one cute baby and a portrait to remember. I would say you are mastering the art of flash quite nicely. Its a beautiful photo.

P.S. the low rating must have come from a batchelor.

You got the light nailed, Jayme. Peachy skintone perfect exposure, pleasing ratio, certainly looks better with a real baby than with Alice. Only wish he didn't fashion a pacifier, but then again the only reason he appeared very content? Oh I see, "Inquisifier." Duhh..^_^

Thanks All. Now Wilson...... He's so sweet! At least it's not the "Buck teeth, Buba teeth" my husband has bought each of our grandchildren. Absolutely disgusting! My daughter and I decided Tyson would only have white pacifiers! :) No Teeth! He just cut his bottom 2 teeth, maybe he'll quit chewing on everything! Usually he has this thing turned backwards and is chewing on the ring!

He's a doll! The lighting is excellent and the skin tones just right. Can even see the drool sliding down his chin just under the pacifier! He looks so soft and cuddly! :~) Leslie

Jayme, I LOVE this! You have taken on a challenge. Babies are hard to get right with skin tones, and I think you have accomplished that well with this image. The eyes have a lot of depth and seem to jump out at you. The only thing I might suggest is to not crop quite so close on the top since you didn't crop that close on the left side of the head. Well done!

Hi Jayme, you are having no trouble mastering flash. These things seem to come so easily to you. I do have just one tiny, weeny, weeny thing I would ask of you though. Will he not let you get a picture without the dummy(pacifier). I'm sure he is hiding a great expression behind there. I still like this photo very much and added a 6/6 to your ratings.

Thanks Leslie- yep, I thought about cloning the drool out, but he's cuting more teeth and I thought it appropriate :) Since he's dripping constantly!

Thanks Jen- The original is not cropped as close, I spent a lot of time deciding, I felt this crop added something, kind of a personality, like he was trying to get down to look in at me, since NaNa was lying on her belly on the floor trying to take this :) My reasoning behind the crop.

And Steve- get out from behind that sofa :) At this point the pacifier is him and he is the pacifier, they are one! :) Kind of a Zen thing as my husband would say! (You know how Harley owners and the Zen thing are?:) Without the pacifier the fingers and then whole hand go into the mouth! I wish I could capture what he does WITH the pacifier. He usually turns it around and shoves the whole thing in his mouth. My daughter called the other day, he had gotten it stuck in his mouth. She had a terrible time getting him to allow her to take it out. She spoke with the doctor and he said he could not choke on it, but I bought some bigger, wider ones anyway. He doesn't like them! I have never seen a child "eat" their pacifier, but he tries! Can't wait until more teeth come in!

Hi Jayme

This is a beautiful portrait. I sure it will be a memory for this little one to reflect back on.

The skin tones are awesome! I can reach out and touch him. Jayme it's all worth the trails and jubilations. Congrats.

As I was visiting your portfolio today, I just had to look at this one again. I am struggling with lighting and this is is perfect! I have more trouble with adults than children. It's weird. Hope the wrist is ok. Hang in there!

P.S. I tried a "filmstrip" one like yours of Kasey. Hope you don't mind! I just loved the idea.

Thanks Katie- I believe that imitation is the highest form of a compliment. I'm off to check out to see if you posted it.
