I bet you can just hear those ions crackling against the brutal tundra shooting this. Spring be here soon. Good colour and mood here, really comes across. Excellent creative use of power thingies.

Aaron, This is very nicely done! The bands of color create an abstract with the powerlines appearing superimposed. I like the play on diagonals.

I like a lot the way you filled space and time at once.

As for the space, the position of the taller structure and the convegence of lines make a pleasent job in dividing and filling the elemental colours of the landscape.

As for time, I like the way the right hand side justapoxes old powerlines (unless those are phone lines and you are fooling us) while the left end side sees them becoming parallel.

The time-wise interpretation of the image is particularly witty in that while graphically I am first attracted by the largest structure and then by the smallest and my eye travels right to left, time-wise I read the image left to right as we are programmed to do, therefore generating a tension between the two interpretations?

The question to you is wether this tension is functional to the image or detracting from it, in which case a flipping might be advocated.

Now my cover is blown, ; -)

It's interesting that you read this both ways: LR/RL. I've never really composed my photographs with a LR emphasis, even though it is supposedly "intuitive" in Western cultures to see things that way. I'll see what it looks like flipped, though.

cheers,

Beautiful colors and terrific design--the lines really make the shot. I even like the witty, post-modern title.

Hi Aaron, I've much enjoyed discovering your impressive Alberta flavoured portfolio, but I'm envious that the top half of Alberta has more unlocked treasures........... but as you say, there's nowhere else I'd rather hang my hat.....cheers.....Tye
