jayme 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Ethan being silly and not listening to his Nana's directions! :) If you can take pictures of 2 year olds, I think it's the best learning experience. You learn to think and work fast!:o} Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Two year old and his NaNa. 35 minute session (Ethan's attention span). Thanks for looking! Link to comment
kristin_morales 0 Posted March 24, 2005 cute candid expression. I do know what you mean about 2 year olds...I work with them everyday; they change moment to moment and never seem to run out of energy. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted March 25, 2005 Christin- isn't that the truth! 2 year olds never stop! They go til they drop virtually. The best way to get Ethan to do something is to tell him not to do it! Wired up backwards I do believe! :) Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted March 25, 2005 Jayme, totally awesome portrait. My heart felt congratulations. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 26, 2005 Jayme - this is a wonderful image!! I love the look on his face!! I certainly can't get my 2-year-old nephew to "pose" for me (I think his mom takes soooo many pictures of him, he gets sick of it!) Anyway - you're tyring to learn lighting here, and I think that you're doing a great job. There are no strange shadows anywhere, and his face seems evenly lit. I love the spiked hair-do! :-) Regards! colin carron 58,916 Posted March 27, 2005 Jayme, I think you really have the lighting and PS work cracked. A very attractive and consistent (not a fluke!) result in all your latest shots. The composition is also very good and like Lou Ann I admire your ability to get a two year old to sit still for half a second! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted March 28, 2005 Thanks All: Ethan's a doll and has a lot of patience with his NaNa:) Tyson is the next in patience and Jake is the least tolerant. Jake hates taking pictures and doesn't hesitate to tell me. (takes after his NaNa) So.... therefore, a lot less images of Jake! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted March 28, 2005 Just a thought....the 'watch the birdie' phrase comes from Victorian times when portrait photogs used a bird shaped whistle to make a cuckoo sound to get attention at the right moment. A photographer produced a rubber chicken at the crucial moment when taking a group photo of the UK royal family. They are all smilng which is unusual. I expect you have your own ways to catch the moment! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Colin- How interesting and funny. Interesting you should mention it. I usually keep my hair up in a pony-tail on top of my head (kind of like Pebbles :) way too time consumming to wear it down). With Tyson, if I pretend to sneeze and flip my pony tail, he laughs himself silly. With Ethan, he's a tough case. He truly has a wonderful range of facial expressions, I have to make funny faces at him, usually my evil eye look gets the most giggles. Funny, that particular look use to scare the daylights out of my 2 kids, but the grandkids just giggle and give it back to me! Jake is much like Ethan. Jake is the reason I have a pony-tail. I got my hair all cut off when he was about 2 1/2. He cried and wouldn't talk to me for days. He kept saying "I want my NaNa with the pony-tail!". :) So...... the pony-tail stays! I just needed one reason anyway and he gave it! :)When I get a chance I'm going to update my self-portrait to include the (Pebbles) look! Link to comment
