steven_linford 0 Posted March 23, 2005 this is very interesting and kept me occupied scanning around it for ages; love the starkness of the top half and how this contrasts with the rich red highlights of the bottom half. one suggestion tho; i wonder whether cropping the image more narrowly would make it even better? closer to the edges of the red buildings? i've fiddled around with iPhoto; not actually sure now!! let me know what you think; I'm here to learn! louise bridge 0 Posted March 23, 2005 This is really wonderful. I had wanted to comment on the version posted earlier under title "Saltburn Pier", which lacked cable cars but had rhythmic waves. It was nice enough in its phallic sort of way. But this more complete picture, with cable cars and incline track, just makes heaps more sense. No, I don't think you should make it any narrower--it needs those dark, horizontal-looking bands of the fences merging there right and left of the cable cars to balance the white horizontality of the ocean's waves. The detail of the two figures out on the pier is a deft touch also. What an astonishingly coherent picture! Link to comment
Ian Copland 7,928 Posted March 24, 2005 I really like this perspective - would have been great if you could have taken from in between the sets of tracks (probably not possible) Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted March 26, 2005 The actual image is stunning. I think the bland colors on the beach and the stark crispness of the colorful house and cable cars make this image appealing. Lovely composition. Link to comment
flynn 4 Posted April 29, 2005 Really fantastic composition I still don't understand how the cabins are driving on this rails :). Those ones with the roof seems to be connected to the building so it is like Escher's painting to me. Link to comment
