buck forester 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Hi Photo.netters! I fairly recently took a hike into Mossbrae Falls, not knowing what to expect during the winter month. This was in January. There was snow on the hills as I walked in, and snow patches on the way, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see it still lush and green. I didn't take many of the traditional views of the falls on this trip, so I stepped back a ways with my wide-angle at 17mm to get a better perspective of the surrounding environment. Comments and suggestions and leftover pizza are welcomed. Thank you. Link to comment
weegreenblobbie 0 Posted March 23, 2005 maybe a flash could fill in some texture on the tree trunk on the right hand side. otherwise great location! Link to comment
buck forester 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Thanks for the comments, Nicky! Trouble with using a flash is that I try and stick with using natural light. But otherwise a great suggestion because that tree trunk is pretty darn dark. Link to comment
a. simpson 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Looks very lush. I like that the water looks like "water" and not mist from slow shutter speed. -Allenda Link to comment
david choo 0 Posted March 23, 2005 This scene is gorgeous. Where is this Mosbrae Falls? Wow! Great composition... although the leaves in the front being blurry is a tad distracting, outside of that, nicely done. Link to comment
danielwoodrum 0 Posted March 24, 2005 this really draws me into the scene, looks like paradise, but a little dark and spooky too. Link to comment
buck forester 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Thanks for the comments, I appreciate the feedback! David, Mossbrae Falls is a spring-fed seeping waterfall that flows into the upper Sacramento River near Dunsmuir, CA. What you see here is not a good representation of the falls, as the falls are very wide and continue further up and down the river from what shows in this photograph. It bends around with the river. It's really quite a sight in person. Link to comment
