martinforget 0 Posted March 22, 2005 See larger for comments and rating please. Didn't know how to crop for the web. There is a lot of details in the bird but a tighter crop would had loose the diagonals of the background that I like. This photo is great on a large print but still wondering for the web. Thanks for your advice on that one and others. Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted March 22, 2005 I think it works very well the way it is. Very beautiful little bird. I like the background also. Any comments you might have on my bird photos would be appreciated. I've been photographing a long time, but I am just really getting started with the bird photography. How quickly they move - a real challenge. -s Link to comment

dk. 0 Posted March 22, 2005 Very Nice Picture Martin, All I did was crop out the left side a bit to get rid of the lighter marks on the bottom of the tree see what you think? But yours is still very nice. 6/6 DK. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 22, 2005 Very nice picture, Martin. Let me offer my variant of cropping. What do you think? Link to comment
martinforget 0 Posted March 23, 2005 That is one of my other version of crop that i didnt post. The idea is to keep a diagonal from bottom left to upper right with the bird. You did just that. Its excellent that way to. But I like the "M" in the background that i'll keep that way on a large print. Thanks All for your comments I see that it's not an easy decision for the net. Your suggestions are all justified. Thanks again. Link to comment
martinforget 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Yes the light marks could be distracting to some very good observation and crop. Thanks Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 23, 2005 Thank you for your comments, I was VERY pleased with it :-) About cropping, it's Your photo, and You should decide yourself how You see it. Let me give you one small advise, I personally don't like oversharpened images, and when you print it isprobably not needed, but for web, moderate sharping (better before resize) makes good, espesially for such models as birds. P.S. I posted one more sparkling drop shot, I'm interested, how it looks, compared to the one, you commented.Regards, Alex. Link to comment
