Our Journey

jvophotography

A young couple's engagement photos. They were a blast to shoot as they laughed the whole time.

Photoshop "Diffuse Glow" to create the soft look. I thought it

implied the softness that these two had towards each other as the

were very lughing and easy going with each other.

Its probably very much a matter of taste, but I would have preferred to see this really sharp - it just looks out of focus here.

Perhaps it's the small rendition. Larger, it looks in focus without any trouble. I can perhaps submit the "unsoftened" one later. Thanks for the comments.

I don't agree. I like the softness. It creates a feeling of "sweetness." I think if it was sharper, it would be boring. Just my opinion. Very sweet picture. If this was my husband and I, I would be pleased.

Thanks Kari! I was beginning to wonderful if anyone saw what I was seeing. Apparently, the majority don't like the idea. Oh well, I've not been one for always agreeing with the masses. Thanks for stopping in and commenting. :-)

You know, Joe, the important thing is your clients. Do they like the photo? If so, you have succeeded. I enjoy looking and rating others' photos, but what is my opinion, really, or anyone's? It's nice to know what others think we can improve on, but we can take their advice or leave it.

I have people that think I take the best pictures they have ever seen. Half the time I'm not even sure if I'm doing the right thing, technically, when I'm shooting. (haven't taken a class since high school-long time ago!) And, most of the time, I am very pleased, and my clients have always been. I get told that my pictures should be in the magazines (some of my wedding shots) all the time. Most people on this site could probably find something wrong with them. And, that's okay. I am content with the fact that I always have plenty to learn. And, I will weigh the advice. It's what makes the world turn. Keep doing what YOU like to do. If it's pleasing to your eye, and to your clients, then be happy with what you've done. Happy shooting! Kari
