The little house looks cheerful and warm in its wilderness. I like the buried fence and gate. And the low sunlight picks out detail very well.

Baldur, this conveys a vast depth of desolate space together with your classic deep sky tonality and composition.....regards.....Tye.

calm and quiet , very peaceful ; great location , if it is not far away from place , is it possible to represent this on a wider perspective ( if there are no distractions left and right )and on a cloudy day/early morning / late evening light , regards ..

Im very glad to see this new picture in your folder an I hope you will continue with your excellent images. Without your pics it would be poorer here.

This picture is like always with outstanding colors an good composition. The complementary of blue and yellow works good and the blue strengthens the cold feeling.

Hope to see new pics soon!

Greetings Otto

Hello Baldur, I like the shot. I guess most has already been said, I personally like how the thin long cloud resembles smoke coming from the chimney. Very good work on the exposure, especially with this kind of contrasty film. Did you bracket the exposure ? Best regards. Peter

Dear Els, Colin, Jim, Brad, Pnina, Fernando, Brian, Tye, Sarah, Tuhin, Otto and Peter for your visit and constructive comments. I appreciate it very much. I will make a book with collection of my best images in the coming future and I will also most likely take a part of an exhibit next autumn so your comments means a lot to me.

To Colin: My feeling while I made the shot was the following: The house whispered to me through the buried gate:...... "just another day" !

To Tuhin: It is not very faraway and nothing distracting close, so it should be possible to do what you suggested. Before I went out this morning, I decided to limit the use of wide angle to the 28mm which I purchaced recently. I used this focal lenght in some shots in 1980. I have the chance of using the 15mm, 14mm 17mm, 20mm and 24mm. The 28mm was just a challenge this morning.

To Otto: Many thanks again my friend.

To Peter: I made two shots of this angle of view and in this one, the long thin cloud looks like a smoke from the chimney as you mentioned. About the exposure, no I did not bracket. I almost never bracket and I almost never fail in the exposure. I always make it the manual way evven though I have the possibility of an automatic setting. I just follow my feeling or instinct.

Thanks again to all of you for the comments and ratings. Regards, Baldur

Cherlyn, Paul and WJ, many thanks for your visit and comments. I appreciate it.

To cherlyn: It was soooooooo cold this morning but such a nice day.

To Paul: In this position of the house against the long thin cloud, the house became alive in my mind for a moment. Then I heared the "whisper"

To WJ: You just let me know!

Armindo, thanks for your thoughts. Sometimes after the shot like in this case, I was sure that it would turn out fine. This is a kind of feeling like being fishing and suddenly....

Jos, many thanks for your nice comment. This morning I went out for photographing and discovered the horse ("daydreams") 1 1/2 hour before. I had decided to go another way home when I suddenly change the plan and selected another road. It was like I was drawn to this beautiful vision!
