dougityb 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Michael, talk about interesting subjects, this is pretty cool. From the thumbnail I had a sense of ancient Egypt, a statue of hammered gold. The enlargement carries that sense a little less than the thumbnail, but still has its own rewards. Interesting blend of Infra-red and photoshop. I like the hue, and the radial effects, which concentrate attention on the figure, which itself is well pictured in terms of light and pose. I like that the head is turned, although I keep looking to see if there's a face visible anywhere. Maybe that's why I like it turned, for the mystery and the tease. This feels like more than a random shot with afterthought digital processing. Link to comment
tterry23 0 Posted March 22, 2005 I really like this work. I get a feeling of motion and struggle and confusion. The texture and color gives it the ancient feel as previously mentioned. Very original concept and well executed. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted March 23, 2005 Two questions: 1) curious how you like your leica 2) as long as you're going in this direction with your pictures, why not go the whole distance and use a pinhole? You will be very suprised with the results. Link to comment
raddatzphoto 0 Posted March 25, 2005 Ed I love the camera, it puts all the blame on me. And pinhole IS fabulous, but just too much of a specialty genre, like doing polaroid transfers or Xpan panoramas. :>) Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted June 30, 2005 Oh man, I like this. The pose, toning, diffusion and light. I think the textured canvas detracts. How about without the texture filter? Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 0 Posted February 6, 2006 Wonderful dream-like image. The bright direct sunlight and the muted colours creates a metallic effect , as Doug says. The pose has a nice carefree motion to it, but I wonder if there is one with even more twist to her body so we see the hips slightly sideways? Anyway, it's a great combination of idea subject and processing. Best wishes, Jonathan Link to comment
