kim_tural 0 Posted March 18, 2005 No birds allowed but your comments are certainly welcome. Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted March 19, 2005 I tried to tell them no birds allowed but they said the weren't scared of no green eyed cat. I like the blur you put on the back. It suits the shot. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted March 19, 2005 Kim, funny title. This american short hair must be a great hunter beacuse I ain't see no birds on the background :) You might want to rotate the image about 0.5 CCW. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Hans, thanks for your opinion. I shall consider it. Leann thanks for the birds. Sharif loves birds. Yummy! Jerry, I know the grass line is curved there because it really is but now maybe the birdbath is tilted too? I'll have to go back and straighten the darn thing. Is that what you mean? Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted March 19, 2005 Hi Kim, yes, the birdbath is abit tilted. I didn't mean the grass line. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Thanks Jerry, I'll have to get back to my folks garden to fix that this summer and we will go back and try this one again. You have a good eye/eyes. ;~) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Amusing shot! The DOF is pretty good and takes your attention straight to the kitty. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted March 20, 2005 Kim, thank you. You know I have to "create" DOF not like your wonderful pictures where you set your camera to do that for you. I manage it once in a while when I trick my camera into it. Anyway I was wondering if I should have started the blur effect in the grass part. It would look more real that way,no? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 22, 2005 I like this, as is, Kim. The blur is in the right spot to keep your attention on the kitty. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted March 26, 2005 Love this shot, and as Kim said, the blur is just right! Do you use filters or do you fiddle with the color in PS? I'm just curious because you always seem to have this beautiful, almost surreal, rich coloration in your shots! Really eyecatching. Leslie Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted March 27, 2005 Nice to see you again. Yes I did play with Layers, two layers of the same picture and worked on them separately. For the background, I played with the hue and blur and the foreground needed a little sharpening and tad of saturation. I can't give you any numbers because I work on The Gimp photo editor, not PS. Hope this helps. Here is how it all started out. Interesting to see the before/after pics sometimes. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted March 27, 2005 I'm glad you showed the original. It was an ok snapshot, but your artistic eye made it something really special. Congrats on a wonderful finished product! This is something I hope to strive for as I learn PS. Practice, practice and maybe someday! :~) Talk to you soon. Leslie Link to comment
free2run 0 Posted March 30, 2005 The overall color tone is very pleasing, and nice capture of the cat's expression as well. Brilliant post-processing skills. Link to comment
novastorm 0 Posted April 2, 2005 Hi Kim, you did a fantastic job on this shot. Love the garden. Cheers Nova :) Link to comment
