jannis 0 Posted March 16, 2005 inspired by the loneliness of old people... Any comments and/or thoughts are welcome Link to comment
davidmalcolmson 0 Posted March 16, 2005 A worthy idea that somehow fails to convince because the different elements that you have selected do not co-exist satisfactorily. In real life one would expect the lady to be in clearer focus than the background but the reverse is the case here. Indeed the lady looks almost like a cardboard cutout placed in front of the scene photographed. You have an interesting conception here that would perhaps succeed with a bit more work. Best wishes, David Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted March 16, 2005 I LOVE IT GREAT THOUGHT AND EMOTION IN THIS SHOT, WELL EXECUTED,JUST ONE LITTLE NIT PICK THE BURN OUT OF THE WHITE SPOT ON THE WALL ABOVE THE OLD LADY,S HEAD JUST ABOVE THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE FIXED,JUST MY OPINION, THAT WOULD MAKE IT A GREAT SHOT. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted March 16, 2005 Personally, I think the hot spot on the wall works. I like the drastic tonal range it enhances, and it also emphasizes the angle of the sunbeam coming through. The symbolism goes a lot further than just depicting loneliness; imagine how different the photo's impact would be if the woman were further from the camera, or facing away from it. Actually, I think the face is the only part of the photo that doesn't completely work. It looks as though you set up a very elegant composition in the background but couldn't quite decide how to work her in. A little overexposure on the face wouldn't have hurt, but I actually wish she were placed more deeply into the frame, farther away from you, and not looking so conscious of the camera Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted March 17, 2005 I like this allot. I especially love seeing through the rubble out the window at the view. It is as if looking through a key hole. Even the windows form looks like an old key hole. It makes me wonder what does the future hold for her will she rebuild ? Only time will tell but the future is out that window for her, she must continue on. Link to comment

Brian_Edwards 0 Posted March 18, 2005 Great idea, but this looks a little too much like a composite, when I don't think it's supposed to look line one. Link to comment
