maria 7 Posted April 25, 2005 Hi Sam, although you did not request a critique - I hope you don't mind. This is another example of a "Zen view". cheers Maria Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted April 26, 2005 This is what I found about Zen view: 134 Zen View May be part of Entrance Transition (112), Entrance Room (130), Short Passages (132), Staircase as a Stage (133), Paths and goals (120). Conflict The archetypal zen view occurs in a famous Japanese house, which gives this pattern its name. Resolution If there is a beautiful view, don't spoil it by building huge windows that gape incessantly at it. Instead, put the windows which look onto the view at places of transition- along paths, in hallways, in entry ways, on stairs, between rooms. If the view window is correctly placed, people will see a glimpse of the distant view as they come up to the window or pass it: but the view is never visible from the places where people stay. maria 7 Posted April 26, 2005 Hi Sam, yes, that's it. Astonishing on how many servers Pattern Language is stored (google sent me to a couple of them), especially considering that the original site supposed one to be member (for a fee) to access it, by the time of my last visit ... But maybe there are more member advantages, which I cannot know, not being one. Indeed, the book was written with HTML in mind. best Maria Link to comment
