Nikon D70, 105 2.8, ISO 200, aperture priority f4.5, 1/125 sec., -1/3 exp. comp., hand held, SB 800DX off camera to the left with SC-17 cord. Manipulation: None. Species: Giant Swallowtail, Papilio Cresphontes. Found from Southern Canada through Colombia. The caterpillars of this species eat citrus leaves and can be a crop pest in some areas.

Usually I don't like butterfly shots where you can see the motion in the wings, but this one works. I think it's because the eye and legs are so sharp. Nice DOF.
