d2f 0 Posted March 14, 2005 Just a personal observation but there are quite a few things that need some improvement. The separation on the subject's right hand side is weak. Reduce the background lighting or increase the lighting on the subject. The small chain around the neck should be removed, it is distracting and pulls the viewer's eyes down ward. The physical attributes on the subject's face just above the right eye and below the nose need corrective enhancement. The artifact on the nose also needs to be addressed. While the lighting on the eyes is good the eyes themselves should be directed towards the viewer, this can be achieved by turning the head slightly to the left and the eyes forward. The overall contrast of the scene is muddy and requires some snap, adjustments in PS could help. Or give more light to the mask of the face and less on the hair at the rear of the head. A good portrait should have two attributes, one tell you something about the subject, second be timeless. The direct connection between the subject and the viewer can help on the first, and watching the hair style and jewerly can help with the second. Link to comment

juliusgrocholski 0 Posted July 30, 2005 Regarding Don's comment; He is just telling you what HE thinks is right, I believe that you hold the power to do whatever you want and however you want it. If I were you I would not listen to him because he wrote about the "average" portrait shot, very boring. This on the other hand is very good. 7/7 Link to comment
