Guest Guest Posted March 14, 2005 I like the nearly minimalist composition of this photo. Of course, that's fitting with your subject (clear cuts for anyone who missed it). The diagonal of the leaning tree is what makes this one work (for me anyway). You might want to consider a separate folder for your clearcut series. Having seen most of them, I'm able to put this photo in context and consider it's impact/success as part of that full body of work. You've managed a sufficient number of quality images to show these as a group. The message is an important one. I for one would love to see them all together. For me, these evoke more emotion and thought than any of my, as Tyler put it, "postcardy" photos. Tyler, will you begin three word sentences soon? Or, are you still working on those adjectives? robertbrown 1 Posted March 15, 2005 Tyler, you are the only boring LA hedonist I know . . . Laurie, you're right about starting a folder of clearcuts. They're much more depressing when all grouped together. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted April 2, 2005 Doug, there's the potential for sadness here on many levels. Link to comment
