A Slow Sunday Afternoon on the Slough

robertbrown

I've decided to give my Canon 10D a rest and shoot only manual focus film cameras for a while.

I checked the horizon on the monitor, Robert, it seems fairly level, must be an illusion. I would turn the image counterclockwise by a degree or two...just my thoughts.

Bob, Your title aptly reflects the mood of this photo. The composition and toning are very well done. The remnants of what appears to be a dock are a nice touch. I like the diagonal lines of the bank that pull the eye through the frame. I do agree with the illusion of a tilt. I think those trees may have the leans. This looks like a nice spot to have a rest and read or simply contemplate life.

Walter, thanks for your comment. I had the same impression as you initially: it doesn't look level but it is. I should probably rotate this so it looks level, even if it isn't!

Laurie, thanks for your comment. While this isn't a great snap, it turned out exactly as I'd hoped.
