Astoria-Megler Bridge

I've decided to give my Canon 10D a rest and shoot only manual focus film cameras for a while.

Great perspective and capture, it looks like the road to the abyss. Nicely done.

I've been looking at it for a while, and I like it!

The top being out of the mist attract my eye, and the steep slope makes me fall into the abyss. Now, what is interesting is the presence of the bridge support right where the road vanishes into the fog. It is very reassuring. With it you sort of think it goes somewhere: it strongly mitigates the vertigo I get if I cover it with my hand.

Still, you do need a long slope down to trigger this vertigo effect which gets negated (positively) at the end of the run. Therefore, this composition is more effective than the other vertical one!

Wish you far less mist in Greece!

Peter and Juan, thanks for your comments.

Salvatore, I prefer this on to the vertical one, too. Thanks for your comments and observations.

Pawal and Amar, thanks for your comments. I'm hoping to try some different approaches to this the next time I hear the fog horns . . .
