jannis 0 Posted March 8, 2005 During my visit in the mountains of Peloponese in November 2004 I was inspired by the life of the villagers there and created this image... Any comments are welcome Link to comment
manuelbayo1 0 Posted March 9, 2005 I like very much the photo, in particular its composition and light distribution. But in my opinion much less saturation in tone would have improve a lot the final result. I've take the liberty of upload this suggestion... what's your opinion? Link to comment
jannis 0 Posted March 9, 2005 Thank you very much for your effort and your alternative suggestion. I very much like sepia tones but your less saturated version is very nice too best regards Yiannis Link to comment

planar 0 Posted March 10, 2005 Very good technique and excellent timing Yanni. I can see some great composition elements in this photo: the smoke, the winding road, even the reflecting light on the typical Peloponesian rooftop. I wonder how the composition would look with the subject more centered. I like the feeling that she comes out of the picture but at the same time it feels somehow unbalanced. Out of curiosity, was this shot taken in Chelmos? (the pictures info says Athens which obviously is not the case). Link to comment
jannis 0 Posted March 10, 2005 Thank you for your thoughts regarding the composition of the image...I prefered to put the old woman near the lower right corner of the frame in order to have a diagonal position against the house in the background..it looked a bit stronger to me than placing the woman in the middle of the frame.. I changed the infos of the image..both photos were taking near the village of Vitina on my way to Dimitsana:) best regards Yiannis Link to comment
vicki_kelch 0 Posted March 10, 2005 Oh, does this woman ever tell a story. The way you have composed her in her surroundings is quite haunting and beautiful. Very nice work!! Link to comment
ali baydas 0 Posted March 13, 2005 I like this photo at first look. Her expression catches the attention immediately. I'd like you to see my picture because of the similarities with this one of yours: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3071584 greetings Ali Link to comment
