DiAnne 3

oswegophoto

Open shade. AP mode at f/3.5 - plane of focus is a bit off, I know. Post: levels, unsharp mask, a bit of dodging and burning.

My most recent photo of my wife, taken just after some flash shots, with the flash turned

off, the lens opened up, and her a bit off-guard. She doesn't like to be photographed, but

is letting me post two of my recent attempts, and this one's my favorite. I'd appreciate

knowing what you think, especially what I can do to improve.

I like this image better than the other. DiAnne's facial expession and the spontaneity of her expression is what I like. A liitle sharper focus on the face and improve the skin tones. Thanks, Robin

... for the feedback. For me, portraiture is hard.

R E, yes, I'd like to combine multiple shots' good points until I arrived at a good portrait. Even, better, though would be to take that shot.

Joyce & Robin, I agree that the plane of focus is too far back, which I understand. How to "improve the skin tones" seems a bit harder. Perhaps a less verdant environment, to lower the amount of green light? Or very low fill-flash?

Hakki, Since you think this shot is so bad, I wish you'd explained how you would have improved it. Help from one of your obvious ability is always welcome.
