christian deichert 1 Posted March 7, 2005 Outstanding tonal range here. The composition is a bit centered, but I'm not certain that any cropping will improve the photo so it seems it would be best left as is. Where in Germany is this? The church has a very interesting structure; it almost appears that a church has been grafted onto the back of one of the Wartturm that appear around my home in Wiesbaden. Link to comment
bret_c 0 Posted March 7, 2005 I agree with the above poster. The lighting and tonality is good but the composition needs much work. I'm sure that if you studied the church yard and searched harder you could find a much more interesting framing while retaining all that works well in this shot. Link to comment
andreas fischer 0 Posted March 10, 2005 i am a bit surprised how someone can give it a 3/3...why its always the people with the poorest pictures giving others a low rating?anyway...this church is in a little village called Ratekau near Luebeck in the North of Germanythere are several churches like this in this area...but this is the most beautifull one, and the others are even more difficult to take pictures of (light, background,space...)another copping, another perspective would be difficult herei would need a 10mm lens oder would have to make multiple row panorama shots...like i did some years ago when i sarted with nightshootingu can see some older pictures here:click to seeor even in 3d (crossview technique) here:click to seethis time i tried to find a perspective i could use with 17mm....so this was the best cropping i could do....and to be honest...its wanted to be so "centered" this timewhen i have a 10mm lens...ill take more pictures there ;-) Link to comment

andreas fischer 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Thanks Olaf....yes u are right, this place , this church has charme...specialy when u are in that village, come arround the corner and dont expect anything....and than u get this surprising view as u can see in my answere above, i like this motiv, and i will be there again when i have a 10mm lens, but i know this picture is and surely will be one of my favorite night shots, i think its one of my best...but few others seem to like it too Link to comment
