Guest Guest Posted March 7, 2005 I have been staring at this image for almost 15 minutes. What a nice photo and what a rendition of colors. The red, the yellow and even the brick on the palace, they're all there, full force. The exposure for the snow is just perfect. With this type of work, gaetan, you've got to use an Architectural lens. What's to the left of the castle Gaetan, more buildings or sloping land with a view? Now, I don't know if this foreground is adding to the image, everyone else can correct me on this. Now, if you have a view to the left of the castle, what type of a composition would that be if you started your frame, on the right, from the red building and tilted your camera to the left? I'm just curious. Kind regards. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted March 8, 2005 A quiet isolate winter cheered up by the colours of the buildings. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted March 9, 2005 I like the formal view of the lower buildings with the castle rising above it. For perspective correction PS will do all the correction a tilt shift lens will do. However you need to leave more space around the edgs of the shot to allow for the PS transformation. In this case straightening the shot means you lose the chimney of the building on the right. I've uploaded a straightened version for comparison. Link to comment

gaetanchevalier 5 Posted March 11, 2005 Thank you for your comments. It is appreciated. I did make a new photo by taking the ferry between Quebec city and Levis. What do you think of this new shot. Link to comment
