LenMarriott 9 Posted March 5, 2005 Alec, A lovely place to visit, I agree. Just keep out of trouble & leave the apples at home:) Excellent composition. Must be rare to get a grouping of birds like that. The contrast is high, which gives it impact but causes lost details in the highlights. Any post exposure manipulation or was this the way it really looked? Best, LM. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted March 5, 2005 It looks like a beautiful place to visit, Alec. Nice capture, too, and I like the colors of the animals. Just a thought: did you consider a composite; a long exposure to blur the water and a second to catch the birds? Link to comment
francescomartini 0 Posted March 5, 2005 a very suggestive image..and beautiful dark water!!! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted March 5, 2005 Yes Len, I did saturate the colors a bit as the feathers look weak. Richard, You are right, I should have used a slower exposure for the waterfall. Francesco, thanks for visiting and your kind comments. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted March 5, 2005 Gorgeous light in this, Alec, and the waterfalla inthe background are a refreshing touch. Link to comment
matthew leong 0 Posted March 5, 2005 Nice composition. Interested to know is the slow shutter speed intentional? Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted March 5, 2005 Alec, Impressive shot. I like the reflection and may I know what time this shot was taken? Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted March 6, 2005 Paula, Johnny thanks for your comments. Matthew, it was dark and cloudy so the shutter speed had to be 1/60 or lower. Spencer it was taken around noon before the rain. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted March 6, 2005 OK I tried another PS for slower speed on the waterfall. Does it work? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 6, 2005 Keep to the original shot Alec. I think you have done a fine job to capture all that in one exposure. Two exposures to blend - great in theory, but in practise - ........you know what they say about working with children and ANIMALS!! I really appreciate this shot - well done, very high impact and vivid - sticks in my mind. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted March 6, 2005 Thanks Matty, I think it's looks fake too. Hmmm. Back to the drawing board. LOL! Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 7, 2009 I'm sorry I missed this one earlier on Alec.......I like water to look like water....I think it is fine the way it is........water is an energy, a life force.....when it looks all blurry.........where's the excitement in that??? With the water this way, it tells a totally 'different story" I'm sure the flamingos would agree...........I love the reflections!!! Very nicely done! Link to comment
