Line and Shadow

Bob, I just submitted a silly cat photo for critique and thought I'd take a look at the critique forum. This one caught my eye immediately! The shadows, horizontal bands, textures, tonal range, etc. are terrific. I think what makes this one for me is the way the broader shadow bends about 2/3 down the frame. I don't think anything needs to be done to improve this. However, if you were bored, you might consider lightening the links on the chain in the forground shadow (just a little dodging perhaps). Good eye!

Laurie, thanks for your comment. You are certainly right about dodging the bottom chain a bit. While the light here is just about perfect for a black and white photo, I'm not entirely happy with the composition. In the end, there may be too much going on.
